Mr.Punchisingha Banda is a cultivator from Dondra and Mr.Param Ponusamy is a cultivator from Point Pedro. These two simple peace loving innocent cultivators are miles and miles away from each other. The faces unknown. But they possess a BONDAGE, A UNITY; THE SPIRIT OF SRILANKA.They feed the people of this Nation. The Paradise Land. There prevails a unique brotherhood. An attainment no politician, no politics No Government could ever offer them.

It is THE BLOOD that passes through between these two SRILAKANS distanced by Geography Same Blood. May be O+ or O-. The same blood that unites them and the country.

A group of EPDP members on the request of their democratic leader Mr.K.N.Douglas Devananda M.P, Minister of Social service and Social welfare, Secretary General-Eelam People’s Democratic Party donated blood last evening. (17/01/2008) at the Colombo blood Bank unit. The donors displayed a sense of unity and oneness symbolising goodwill and harmony towards their sinhala bretheren. The entire hospital staff, the Doctors nurses, patients and the general public, warmly received them with appreciative feelings of warmth.

EPDP members sincerely explained that there is no racial difference in the midst of shed blood and tears, Is there a shade or the colour of a race in blood? Blood does not give a label to a group of people. This is an act of demonstrating equality in race, ethnic unity and humane compassion on behalf of the tamils.

Tamils speaking people would never approve of gruesome killings and of this carnage committed by the LTTE. This is a cowardly act of theirs for there own pleasure and greed. Even the tamil speaking people have continuously shed blood and tears due to the atrocities of the Tigers.EPDP members said, Srilankans should not be deceived by the LTTE’s deceitful motives and greed for power. The Tamil speaking people should be distanced from the terrorists who seek to create a wall between the two communities and be viewed on a totally different perspective from the culture of the LTTE.

The members of the EPDP sympathized with the victims and prayed that the wounded innocent sinhala villagers should recover very soon .The staff of the Central Blood Bank deeply expressed their whole, hearted gratitude and Thanks to the Minister and the members of the EPDP .
