Prime Minister Rathnasiri Wickremanayake presenting a motion to extend the state of emergency by a further month in parliament this morning said the LTTE terrorists are infuriated and in a state of fear as they continue to suffer enormous defeats at the hands of security forces. The Prime Minister expressing his tributes to the masses for their sense of patience and understanding of the present situation also said the government is committed to consolidate the security of people and the country. The gallant troops have been successful in cornering the LTTE, which is being identified by the FBI of the United States as the most dangerous terrorist organization in the world, to a single area. Prime Minister Wickremanayake further said 68 members of the three armed forces and police have laid their lives on behalf of the country during the past months. 73 civilians have also succumbed to their injuries. Responding to a query made by member Wimal Weerawansa, he also said the visa permit of Dr. Rama Mani was cancelled based on a confidential report received by intelligence sources. The Prime Minister stressed that the visa will definitely not be revalidated.
