The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation will soon enter the domestic Gas market. Director of the Corporation M.D. Wijegunawardena says manufacturing capacity at the Corporation’s crude oil refinery will be expanded.
The L.P. Gas production will be enhanced as a by-product of petroleum oils. The CPC currently sells its LP Gas production to the Laughs Company. Director Wijegunawardena says the Corporation will be able to sell a gas cylinder to the consumer at 150 Rupees below the current market price.

Financial Director of the Shell Gas Company Reemu Salldin says a slight reduction in world market LP Gas prices has been witnessed in the first few days of this month. He further says the benefit of price reduction will be passed on to the customer, if this favorable situation continues.
