Laugfs and Power Gas companies still not in a position to increase the prices of LPGs

Laugfs and Power Gas companies say they have not reached a decision so far to increase the prices of domestic gas cylinders.
 Chairman of Laugfs Gas W.K.H. Wegapitiya says the board of directors of the company will meet on Monday to review the present situation in the gas market.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Power Gas Company Joseph Fernando says sales capacity of the company which is currently limited only to the western province will be extended to other areas as well.
A 12.5 kilo cylinder of Power Gas is currently sold at 1,330 rupees. Meanwhile, Director of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation M.D. Wijayagunawardena says the corporation will soon enter the competitive market to sell gas at reduced prices.
It hopes to sell a domestic gas cylinder 250 rupees less than the current prices. Under the firs stage thousand cylinder will be imported.
The Ceypetco will also expand its crude oil refining capacity with the objective of increasing the gas production.
