President Mahinda Rajapakse also advised the officials to implement the recommendations of the investigation commission appointed to look into malpractices of the Municipal Council. A special discussion in this regard was held recently at the Temple Trees.

This year’s SAARC leaders’ summit is scheduled to be held at Sri Lanka. Therefore, the President pointed out the Municipal Council has got a huge responsibility to make the Colombo city more beautiful. President Rajapakse also emphasised necessary measures should be taken to develop the common facilities of the people in the Colombo city.
