The Government of Austria provides aid amounting to 3.96 Billion Rupees for development projects in Sri Lanka. The interest-free loan is to be used for construction of a building complex with modern medical units at the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital and also for construction of railway bridges in Matara, Bentota, Unawatuna and Midigama.
An agreement was signed in this connection at the Finance Ministry.
Several railway bridges are already under construction utilizing Austrian Government aid.
