Lions Club of Avissawella/Seethawaka celebrates its’ 22nd Charter in grand style

Lions club of Avissawella/Seethawaka,a very senior club in the Lions District 306B2,celebrated its’ 22nd charter on the 1st March  2008 at the Kolonne River Side Grand Hotel Avissawella with the participation of  a large number of clubs of the Lions District.
More than 300 Lions and Lion Ladies from Colombo,Gampaha,Kurunagale, and Anuradhapura Districts participated at this function in which the District Governor ,District 306B2,Lion Mahesh Pasqual MJF was the Chief Guest, eight Past District Governors and their Lion Ladies were the Guests of Honour.

This club from the historic city of Seethawaka also announced the candidature of one of its’ senior Lions, Kingsley  Bernard for the office of Vice District Governor for the Lionistic year  2008/2009.Lion Kingsley Bernard is a veteran marketer and a well known  management consultant who headed the National Chamber of Exporters(NCE) as its’ President in two consecutive years 2005 and 2006.He was also the Chairman of
the Joint Business Forum(J-Biz) succeeding Lions International President  Mahendra Amarasuriya.Mr Bernard counts more than 25 years of experience in the corporate sector holding top management positions both in the public and private organizations in the country.
