Sri Lankan warplanes have destroyed a Tamil Tiger radio tower in the north, a day after the country's bloodiest suicide bombing, the rebels say.
Two employees were injured in the air raid south of Kilinochchi, rebels said.

The latest violence came as Norwegian special envoy Jon Hanssen-Bauer arrived in Sri Lanka to discuss talks between the two sides planned for late October.

Peace hopes nosedived after Monday's suicide bombing which killed almost 100 people, most of them sailors.

Rebel officials said the main 500-foot-high broadcast tower at Kokkavil had been destroyed after being hit 25 times during bombing on Tuesday morning.

An electricity generator and two vehicles were also destroyed in the attack, the pro-rebel TamilNet website reported.

The Tigers told the BBC Sinhala service they were broadcasting with difficulty but would not go off air.
