5 arrested, explosives recovered in Muthuwal

Grand-Pass Police recovered 4kgs' of C-4 high explosives and 10 electrical detonators from a house located at 'Aluth Mawatha' in Muthuwal during a pre-dawn search operation conducted today(March 25).
According to Police sources, the search operation was conducted based on substantial information received, where 5 suspects were also arrested alleged LTTE by the Police following preliminary investigations at the site.
Four explosive timers were also recovered by the Police during the search operation.
Earlier, in February an LTTE suicide bomber blew himself in a separate location at Muthuwal, when his hideout was spotted in a combined Army-Police cordon.
