(Lanka-e-News, ) UNP MP Lakshman Kiriella says that the jungle law of the Rajapakse regime has armed the Pillaiyan Group that contests to the Eastern Provincial Council while submitting a motion to the courts to seek permission to reduce security of Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) leader Rauf Hakeem.

As soon as Hakeem resigned from the portfolio, his security was reduced and he had to go to courts to retain his security. The government went to courts seeking permission to reduce the security of the SLMC leader just as he resigned from the parliament to contest to the Eastern Provincial Council. Mr. Kiriella said that the government attempts to reduce the security of Mr. Hakeem who is under threat for a long time, to expose him to victimization.

At a press conference held in the official residence of the Opposition Leader, Mr. Kiriella questioned on what basis 30 to 40 security personnel had been provided to Rajapakse family members and several hundreds personnel to Pillaiyan while reducing security of the SLMC leader.
