Sri Lankans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Sunday requested the custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Abdulla Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, to use his good offices and address the parents of the dead child to give clemency to Rizana Nafeek.

Niyaz Mustafa, Senior Finance Controller attached to a leading firm in Jeddah, in a letter to the King states: "I approach you to use your good offices to impress upon the parents of the little child, who is no more in this world, to spare the life of Rizana Nafeek and to receive the rewards of Allah the Almighty."

He has stressed that the King’s request to the parents would not go unheard.

"As is well known," he has said," forgiving a fellow human being and if that results in saving his or her life, brings about Allah’s bounties and the greatest rewards to the forgivers."

Niyaz has said in the case of Rizana Nafeek, pleas for clemency have come from far and near and from almost all corners of the globe.

"Your Majesty, you have always been like a father figure to all the citizens and residents of this great country," he says requesting Sri Lankans to send in appeals for clemency for Rizana Nafeek. The address of the parents of the dead child is Mr. Naif Jizijan Khalaf Al-Otebi care of Sri Lankan Embassy, P.O. Box 94360, Riyadh- 11693, Saudi Arabia.
