Twenty six killed and sixty four injured in Piliyandala blast

The latest reports indicate that the number of civilians killed in the LTTE terrorist triggered bomb explosion inside a passenger bus in Piliyandala has increased to 26. Fourteen of the bodies are at kalubowila , eleven at Piliyandala and the other(01) at the National Hospital Colombo.

The number injured has also increased to 64 .Forty nine of the injured have been admitted to the Kalubowila hospital , seven have been admitted to the Piliyandala Hospital and eight to the Colombo National Hospital.

The crowded ill - fated bus during the 'rush' hour was proceeding from the Piliyandala passenger bus terminal around 6.40 in the evening to Kahapola, a suburb of Piliyandala . The deadly 'bomb' had been placed on the rack three seats behind the driver's seat at the time of the explosion.
