Government plans to provide solutions for local SMEs.

Construction Ministry of the Government of Sri Lanka and Chamber of Construction Industry Sri Lanka plan to provide solutions and assistance for burning issues of local small and medium scale contractors through their proposed interactive session is to be held in Colombo.

The chamber hosts this session in collaboration with the ICTAD and invites local SMEs who involve in the construction sector.

At present most of SMEs face financial and other issues due to lack of support from relevant agencies , said CEO of the chamber Dakshitha Talgodapitiya.

"Minister of Constriction and Engineering services Dr. Rajitha Senaratne has accepted our invitation to attend the workshop which will be held on 10th of May at the ICTAD auditorium , Colombo 7.

According to available figures more than 90 % of the domestic construction industry represents by the SMEs .

"Some of the most knowledgeable persons in this industry which includes Eng. Mervyn Gunasekara, Chairman ICTAD Asitha Pathirage , Eng; Ananda Ranasingha and Attorney At law Chirsmal Warnasuriya will attend this seminar to discuss these common issues and also provide solutions.  Presidents Counsel Mr. Romes de Silva will also address the participants.

According to the chamber's spokesman Mr.Talgodapitiya , the organizers expect to discuss various topics on construction sector such as process, construct administration, project management , project finance and funding .
