Negombo area will be upgraded as a tourism nerve point

The Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism George Michael says Negombo area will be upgraded as a tourism nerve point under the Tourism Resources Development Project.
Japan International Cooperation Bank assist for this project and it costs more than 400 million rupees. The secretary added that renovation of Hamilton Canal , establishing model beach zone , and many developmental activities will be carried out under this project.
Technical evaluation committee has also been appointed. Sigiriya and Anuradhapura sacred cities will also be upgraded under the tourism resource development project .
