Lanka Lions athletics meet in the weekend

image Over 2000 athletes are expected to participate in the 8th Senior and 7th Junior Athletic Championships on October 7 and 8 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.

The tournament conducted by the Lanka Lions Sports Club obtained donations from well wishers and friends to pay the large sum of money to book the Sugathadasa Stadium over the two days.All leading schoolboy athletes from all districts in the country are expected to turn up at this meet held annually. Athletes from Vavuniya, Ampara and Kurunegala along with all districts in the Western Province will be taking part.

Athletes will be housed at the Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya in Kotahena.

Events to be worked out are for boys and girls in the age groups of Under 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 years.
