Mr. Katagoda said he could have contested the election from the UNF but took the
decision to contest from the DNA to bring victory to Gen. Sarath Fonseka who
stood up against fraud and corruption of the government. He said he would
continue to be a member of the UNP in spite of contesting from the DNA.
