CBK too for Gen. Fonseka – queue to support Fonseka lengthens swiftly

In a latest and sensational political development , the former President Chandrika Kumaratunge to address election rallies of Opposition common candidate General Sarath Fonseka at the upcoming Presidential election , according to UNP sources.

This development is despite Mrs. Kumaratunge’s earlier declaration that she would never come for politics after retirement . The UNF , the UNP common alliance which is fielding Gen. Fonseka as the common candidate has decided to define a political role for Chandrika at the upcoming Presidential elections , though an official post in the UNF is not contemplated. Gen. Fonseka also hinted at a news conference on 17th that Chandrika will resume politics.
