Former SLFP Deputy Minister Kathriarachchi remanded

Former SLFP Deputy Minister Chandana Kathriarachchi was remanded by the Colombo High Court over his alleged involvement in a murder of a person by the name Kasturiarchige Don Chandrarathne in Piliyandala Kesbawa area on 24 August 1996.

 

 

 

The case was taken up before the High Court Judge Kumudini Wickramasinghe. Five persons including former Deputy Minister Chandana Kathriarachchi alleged involved in the murder .One person is absconding while other four suspects including Kathriarachchi were remanded.

 

This case was pending in the Kasbawa Magistrate Court for some time. Later it was transferred to the Colombo High Court.

 

The Judge ordered four suspects including Chandana Kathriarachchi to be remanded until the case is over. The warrant has been issued to arrest the other person, who is now absconding.

 

Dilupa Peiris State Counsel appeared for the Attorney General while Attorney-At-Law Ranjan Mendis appeared for defendants.

You make a great point. Got some great information here. I think that if more people thought about it that way, theyd have a better time understanding the issue. Your view is definitely something Id like to see more of.
